The research conversation was useful while you were in it. A week later, a colleague opens the export and finds twenty pages of questions, revised answers and links with no indication of which conclusion you accepted.
Export the accepted research result, its supporting sources and unresolved questions as a usable handoff. Keep the conversation history where required, but do not expect another person to reconstruct the work from it. The portable record should explain what is known and what still needs a decision.

Start with the next reader
Ask what the recipient needs to do: prepare a meeting, verify a finding or continue the research. This determines the useful level of detail.
For an illustrative service review, the handoff might need an approved comparison question, a few source-backed observations and three uncertainties. It does not need every abandoned prompt or repeated draft.
Use only the authorised destination for any non-public source material. An export function does not establish permission to share the contents elsewhere.
Build a compact research package
Include:
Original question and scope.
Accepted findings with the distinction between fact and interpretation.
Source links, document versions and observation dates.
Important exclusions or limits.
Open questions and suggested next owner.
What would change the current interpretation.
Keep actual source references with the findings they support. A separate collection of unlabelled links creates work for the recipient and makes unsupported conclusions harder to spot.
Separate accepted findings from working suggestions
Mark ideas proposed by the assistant that have not been verified. Do not let their inclusion in a polished document make them appear established.
In an illustrative competitor-page review, a source may show that a service offers a discovery call. The researcher's suggestion that the offer appears easy to understand is an interpretation. An estimate of how many calls it generates is unsupported unless separate evidence exists.
These distinctions should survive the export even if the original conversation used confident wording throughout.
Check portability in the receiving format
Open the exported result where the next person will use it. Verify links, headings, tables and source references. If a citation works only inside the original tool, add a usable reference in the permitted format.
Do not assume that an export includes attached files, every source version or access rights. Record what is actually included and what the recipient must obtain separately.
Keep enough context to continue
Explain why a question remains open and what has already been checked. That prevents the next researcher repeating the same dead end.
Keep the governing research question near the top so future additions do not turn a bounded exercise into a general information archive.
The useful finish is a handoff somebody can inspect and extend. It is not a claim that the research is complete merely because the conversation has been saved or the assistant has produced a final summary.
